Radio City 91.1 FM Hyderabad launched a citywide hunt in 2010 for best singing talent called Radio City Superstar Singer. Auditions for the contest were held from May 22 to June 5 2010. The idea was to bring out the best singing sensation in Telugu music using the power of radio.
Renowned music director Koti and singer Sunita comprised the judging panel, along with Radio City RJ Vamsee. That apart, the performances were also rated by audience votes. On-air promotion including teasers, RJ mentions and vote appeals, and on-ground promotion drive was organized to encourage Hyderabad to vote for the voice of city.
The grand finale took place in Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad on June 20, 2010. The winner Raman Bharadwaj bagged a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and was the station voice for Radio City Hyderabad for a year.
