Taylor Swift broke down in tears after receiving the Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards - becoming the youngest person ever to win the top prize.
It was Swift's night as the 19 year old dominated the 43rd annual event in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday (11Nov09), taking home gold in every category she was nominated in, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Fearless and Music Video of the Year for ‘Love Story’.
Accepting the Entertainer of the Year trophy, the Association's top prize, Swift teared up as she told the crowd, "Every single person in that category let me open up for them this year. Thank you all so much".
Brad Paisley, who hosted the show with Carrie Underwood for the second year running, picked up two trophies to add to his mantelpiece, including his third consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year. He announced, "This was the best time I've ever had at an awards show".
Country duo Brooks and Dunn, who are set to split in 2010, took to the stage with ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons for a rousing rendition of 'Honky Tonk Stomp' in their last ever performance at the CMA's.
