Mushroom that infected Mumbai

Event : Infected Mushroom in Mumbai
Featuring : Infected Mushroom
Venue : Blue Frog, Mumbai
Date : 30 July, 2010
The Israeli psy-trance duo, Infected Mushroom, were in town before a live audience playing their live electronica set and expressing to the Mumbaikars that psy-trance and rock n roll can be amalgamated together and that the results can be hotheaded and fiery.
This is barely their first tour to India. But each time the decade-old psy-trance duo come to India, they increase some more of their contagious liveliness. On this visit, Erez Eisen and Amit Duvedevani are on tour to Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and New Delhi. As always, this tour is just before their album launch. Their previous visit to India was in December 2009, when they released their eighth studio album, Legend of the Black Shawarma.
If you know something about psy-trance, you would definitely know who Infected Mushroom are and what sort of impression they have had on the genre. The Israeli citizens (who travel across the globe for performances now) have left their mark without any doubt and have helped redefine what "trance" means to a lot of people. On Friday, we came across the live concert on a local website and there was no way, we could miss it. The live gig was thriving with tempted melodious blazes and a blazing warm rocked out trance extravaganza. The word is “Wow.” What a performance!!
We got to the venue just before they started at around 10:15 PM. The queue for ticket holders was absorbed upto the entrance and it was crowded to its full capacity. The place was crammed with hundreds of people who were furrowing the night away. It was getting close to 11:00 PM and Infected Mushroom were running final setup checks, while the crowd just twisted around in front of the stage and started to hymn.
They went on stage at around 10:45 PM, and what an entry it was! They have a serious fan base!! They tore up with a live trance morphed rock show. The bursting live act led off the journey with ‘Deeply Disturbed’ and pulled it up. Eizen was on the keys and Duvdev on the mic.
The crowd was going crazy with their performance, as if in a heavy metal concert, guitar twisting all over the place, marvelously timed drums and flawlessly synchronized live musicians at their best, their timing and chemistry was superb. People were tailing their heads and jumping up and down as the music crazed and engrossed them hard. It was one of the best performances we ever witnessed in Mumbai.
This night was a rocked out firestorm of outstanding live talent that absolutely armored Infected Mushroom as a power to be calculated within the electronica scene.
