Brief Biography
Crowbars music can be best described as doom metal with a touch of punk which is kind of strange because doom metal is based on slow brooding riffing whereas punk is based on fast rhythm parts. The first album did not do well but their second album was produced by Phil Anselmo lead singer of metal legends Pantera which resulted in it attracting a lot of interest and receiving good promotion on MTV. The band association it Anselmo allowed them to tour with Pantera and increase their fan base.
Today the band has only one founding member Kirk and performs live by borrowing other musicians. The band is regarded as highly influential by other doom metal acts.

Kirk:  I’m not patting myself on the back or anything, but there's no doubt in my mind Crowbar is responsible for a lot of this drop-tuned shit that's been going on. Even this drop-tuned nu-metal crap, which I'm not a fan of, but I've been tuning to B since '88.
